The Arya Samaj Markham Scholarship program was inaugurated in 1997 to recognize academic,leadership
and community achievements by Secondary School graduates. Four scholarships are awarded annually.
One award out of the four is ASM Youth Recgonition Award.
In keeping with the primary goal of Arya Samaj to "Make This World Noble",Arya Samaj Markham is proud to
support post- secondary education opertunities for high school students of Hindu origin.We encourage
students in accordance with the MInistry of Education essential guidlines for : flexibility, productivity,
skills, communication, technology and teamwork. By assisting young people from Hindu families,we are
investing in their future and success.
In order to qualify, students must be eligible to receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and proceed
to University or College in the same year. Winners of these scholarships and awards are chosen based on
academic excellence, community involvement as well as their public speaking and interviewing skills.
With the generous support of individuals and corporations, The Arya Samaj Markham is pleased to offer
this exciting opertunity and is able to offer four awards totalling $3750.00, the "Profiles in Excellence"
Floating Trophy and Plaques to the winners. The scholarship winners are announced at the annual
Awards Night in the month of June.
Special thanks go to our Committee members, Judges, Interviewers and Volunteers. We are very grateful to
them for taking time out of their busy schedules and are hoping that we can count on their support for future
years to come.
