Since 1996 Arya Samaj Markham has sponsored the ASM Summer Day Camp for children between the ages
of 4 and 14 years. The camp is run by trained and experienced teachers. Our camp is an exciting 3 week
program In the month of July. It is an excellent opportunity for children to learn and grow in a well supervised
and culturally enriched environment.
Our camp hours are from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Extended care hours are also available for a
minimal charge. Hot lunches and two snacks are prepared and served on the premises. Donation receipts will
be provided for camp fees (excluding the cost food).
The main theme of our camp is "My Heritage". We provide a unique "East meets West" camp experience
where children learn about, experience and celebrate both Canadian as well as their Indian cultures through
a variety of social & cultural activities. Learning about Hinduism and participating in yogic exercise (children
level), recreational swimming, arts & crafts, fun filled games, cricket taught by professionals, dance & drama
and healthy Indian cooking. are some of the activities in which your children will participate . The highlight of
our camp is The Grand Finale Dinner & Cultural Show which is held on the last Thursday evening of the
program. On this special night, campers, parents, families and friends are invited to an interactive event
where campers participate in a "HAVAN" as well as perform a cultural show on stage that is prepared during
the 3 week summer camp curriculum, directed & choreographed by student volunteers.
The success of our camp depends on dedicated, hardworking & enthusiastic young teachers, volunteers and
campers. Youth 15 years and over are welcome to volunteer for this unique experience and earn community
volunteer hours which can be used towards their secondary school diploma. Teachers, parents & volunteers
make a huge difference and we encourage you to get involved. If you are interested in volunteering please

Campers and student volunteer applications will be available in May. Registration will be held on Sunday's in
May. Space is limited and previous years were sold out quickly, so to avoid disappointment please call and
enroll your child early.
